Ogilvy Johannesburg has won the TV grand prix at the 25th London International Awards for its “Selinah” commercial highlighting the effectiveness of HIV/Aids anti-retrovirals.

The awards, recognising the best in advertising, design and digital, attracted a record 13 562 entries from 79 countries.

“Selinah”, one of a number of commercials developed by Ogilvy during its decade-long partnership with the Topsy Foundation, has won several awards around the world. It has also done its job by raising awareness and funds. “Since the launch of the campaign earlier this year, we have seen an unprecedented influx of support from donors, and the number of patients requesting ARV treatment has also risen sharply,” says Topsy executive director Sylvia de Jager.

Ogilvy executive creative director Fran Luckin says: “This award is another testament to the fact that SA creativity can compete with the best in the world.”
