Birthmark revamps Channel O Africa look

TV and film design productions specialists, Birthmark has just injected a new lease of life into Channel O Africa’s TV presence with an inspired look and feel for the channel’s rebranding exercise.

Channel O Africa is one of the most credible channels in the African music industry and is a playground for Africa’s best music talent incorporating a distinct global edge. With this in mind, Birthmark was briefed to effectively communicate this to viewers with a brand new look and feel.

In answer to the brief, Birthmark created a visual language consisting of slick motion graphics combined with an inherently African interpretation. A constantly evolving collage of content was employed depicting relevant African cultural motifs, ranging from the traditional to the modern, all rich in African textures, graphics & patterns. This visual language provided the golden thread for the channel’s line-ups & end boards.

Channel O Africa is the thought-leader and authorities on all that is uniquely current, cool and relevant in the African music space. Birthmark has underpinned this with an identity that would represent black urban youth, employing a logo which acts as blank canvas and can be used for constantly changing and evolving artistic expression.
