No doubt this agency will continue to paint a positive picture of itself. But then, it can afford to, literally. Having resigned the Dulux account, it won Medal Paints instead. Other significant account gains were Tetra Pak and Coke Zero. However, the agency admits to disappointment at not winning the Wimpy pitch.

The loss, once again, of Matthew Bull to foreign attractions, will put renewed pressure on both Lowe's SA agencies to maintain the quality of output. Creatively, it wasn't a bad year : Wally's Heart continued to rack up awards at home and abroad, as did Axe deodorant and the Food & Trees for Africa.

Lowe Gauteng says its campaigns are having a positive effect on the brand performance of its clients. One hopes that will rub off soon on the agency's bottom-line - it had an 8% decline in annual income.
