A 33% decline in staff and a drop in income reflects the difficult year experienced by most Cape agencies. There were some interesting projects, such as the 2015 rugby World Cup bid and some political work on behalf of the Independent Democrats. The most significant win was Pick n Pay Corporate, worth R1,9m in billings. Combined, new work brought the agency another R1,25m in revenue.

However, there were positives, says Gillett. Creative awards continued to stack up, including a gold Pendoring, while deputy creative director Alistair Morgan became the first non-American to win the Paris Review's Plimpton Prize for Fiction. Affiliate agreements with GGi and Total Media PR, Accelerate Sport Sponsorship and Under The Radar CRM have extended market options available to the agency.
