Not a great year by Grid's exacting standards. Annual income was down 22%. It says it's "not overly concerned" as turnover was inflated in the previous year by a number of large, one-off projects. As one AdFocus judge said: "Imagine telling (global WPP group boss) Martin Sorrell not to worry when your income has fallen nearly a quarter."

Still, there were new accounts bringing nearly R26m in billings. According to Armogam: " In these uncertain times we are encouraged that we have found new ways of doing business, found first-class brands and diversified our portfolio in line with our strategic intent."

The agency launched a digital operation during the year and got a handful of awards at the Loeries.
