Wholly owned by black women, Zanusi continues to show splendid growth and make significant inroads into the increasingly crowded branding market.

Billings grew to R12,8m last year from R3,4m, and the agency collected a number of significant new accounts, including Acsa, Procter & Gamble, Thebe Investments and Netherlands-based cellular network group Celtel, now known locally as Zain.

As part of Zain's One Network African strategy, Zanusi has been contracted to develop market segmentation strategies for Uganda, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Gabon, Tanzania, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

At the other end of the scale, the agency retained the SABC2 account to run the channel's Dorp to Dorp roadshow across SA.

The agency's biggest accounts are Acsa, Zain, SABC2, Mobile Connect and the national department of environmental affairs & tourism.
