The last months of 2007 were memorable ones for Switch, the multidisciplinary brand consultancy. It was selected to integrate the new SA parliament logo, create the Fifa soccer Confederations Cup 2009 identity and the 2010 soccer World Cup official poster. And finally there was the launch of the new digital division, Switch Digital.

Further expansion in 2008 included its teaming up with experiential marketing firm Ignition to create Ignition Switch. This will combine strategic development, creative direction and event execution. The venture will initially look at marketing opportunities around the 2010 soccer World Cup.

Its contracts are project-based. It hauled in some big fish last year, including MTN, Subaru, Transnet and Sappi. For MTN it is responsible for strategy, corporate identity and retail development. Projects differ considerably - it was responsible for rebranding Jo'burg's Ellis Park rugby stadium as Coca-Cola Park.

After MTN, the biggest clients are FNB, Investec, Coke and Subaru.
