In its AdFocus submission, this agency states: "It wouldn't be overstating the case to say that Ogilvy Johannesburg is flying." As an ad agency, it's expected to exaggerate, but on this occasion it isn't.

Top of the SA charts at Cannes, Apex and Loerie in 2008, it got four Loerie golds during the review period and several best-liked ads.

Income grew by 25,4%, following a 21,7% surge the previous year, and the agency produced record financial results. MD Ribeiro predicts growth will continue as the agency finds new ways to meet market needs. Its digital arm, Ogilvy Interactive, grew quickly last year: many of Ogilvy's new accounts were activation-orientated. The agency also launched Ogilvy Shopper Marketing.

The agency records its high point as winning the Nike soccer 2010 assignment in a hotly contested pitch. Its biggest accounts are KFC, MultiChoice/M-Net/SuperSport, SA Tourism, Sun International and Project Phoenix.
