Once just a media specialist agency, Mediaedge has expanded its portfolio in recent years to include media strategy, planning and buying, interaction, insight as well as return on investment.

Media billings increased R700m last year, driven mainly by winning the Pick n Pay and Brandhouse accounts. The latter account will be serviced from a new Cape Town office, which also exists to handle Caltex and to encourage new business in the Western Cape.

Other new accounts included Silverstar Casino, Foschini ASJ, Energizer Schick and Nashua Electronics. The loss of Danone and Visa knocked R80m off billings.

The agency's biggest brands, after Pick n Pay, are Nedbank, Brandhouse, Edcon and Famous Brands.
