It's been a good year creatively for DDB SA. In June the agency won a Cannes Grand Prix for its Energiser print campaign. On top of that, there has been the Cannes gold, Clio gold and bronze, Eagle gold and silver as well as the Loeries silver and bronze.
So spare a thought for Ken van Reenen, the copywriter on the Energiser ad, who couldn't get a French visa in time to see his work reap its reward in Cannes.
No doubt the creative successes help explain the agency's R240m in new billings and R14m in income from clients such as McDonald's, Symantec, MTN's Fifa business, Vale Global Mining and OKI Printing Solutions. Five pitches, five successes is a pretty good result.
The company's biggest accounts, in order, are Unilever, McDonald's, MTN, Honda and Life Healthcare.
