More than 200 students are fighting for four places on Ogilvy SA’s graduate programme. Late last year the communications group approached tertiary institutions in Johannesburg and Cape Town to identify candidates.
Last month the students began a three-month selection process. In September Ogilvy will pick four — two from each city — to be employed from February 2013. They will have their final studies paid for and participate in a six-month rotation programme.
Group marketing director Lauren Woolf says: “It’s not an internship and those who are selected will be immediately employed. The rotation is for the candidates to discover the most suitable areas for them.”
